The European Conference on Language Learning (ECLL) is now in its fifth year and is held annually alongside The European Conference on Education (ECE). Since 2013, around 1,000 delegates have attended this annual interdisciplinary event, which takes place in the UK each summer.
In 2016 ECLL/ECE attracted 283 attendees representing 46 countries – a truly international event. This diversity serves as a wonderful comparative and contrastive resource.
The majority of ECLL/ECE conference attendees are university faculty, with 55% holding an academic post. At 17% of the total registered delegates, postgraduate and doctoral students make up the next largest group of attendees. The remaining attendees come from the public sector (7%) and the business sector (3%), with 2% registered as "independent" and 17% registered as "other".
